Alright, let’s talk about men’s hairspray, you know, the stuff them fellas use to keep their hair looking neat, or sometimes, not so neat, depends on what they’re aiming for, I reckon.
What is this Hairspray stuff anyway?
Well, it’s like a mist, comes in a can, and you spray it on your hair. It’s supposed to keep your hair in place. You know, like if you got a fancy do and don’t want it falling all over the place. Some sprays make your hair hard like a rock, some just give it a little hold, so it ain’t flyin’ around everywhere. I seen some fellas use it even if they ain’t got much hair left on top. I guess it makes what’s left look a bit thicker, or maybe just keeps it from blowin’ away in the wind, ha!
How to Use It, Not That It’s Rocket Science
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I seen enough folks use this stuff. You hold the can a ways away from your head, like maybe a foot or so, and spray it on. Don’t go holdin’ it too close, or you’ll end up with a sticky mess, like you dunked your head in syrup. And don’t use too much, or your hair will be all stiff and crunchy. Just a little bit, all over, that’s what I seen the barbers doin’ when my grandson got his hair cut for that fancy wedding he went to. He looked real slick, gotta say.
- Hold the can right: Not too close, not too far. About a foot away, they say.
- Spray even: Don’t just spray one spot, move your hand around so it gets everywhere.
- Don’t overdo it: A little goes a long way. You can always add more, but you can’t take it off, not easy anyway.
Different Kinds of Hairspray, Who Knew?
Now, there’s all sorts of hairsprays out there. Some are strong, some are light, some smell like flowers, and some don’t smell at all. My grandson, he uses the kind that don’t smell, says the flowery stuff makes him feel like an old lady, the cheeky thing! I seen some sprays that say they’re for thin hair, some for thick hair, some for making your hair shiny, and some for making it look like you ain’t got nothin’ in it at all. It’s a whole world of sprays, I tell ya.
Some Names I Heard, Probably Fancy Brands
I can’t rightly remember all the names, but I heard some fellas talking about “Consort.” Sounds like somethin’ important, huh? They say it’s good for thin hair, holds it tight without makin’ it look all gooey. Then there’s somethin’ called “Kristin Ess,” that’s a woman’s name, ain’t it? They say that one don’t make your hair crunchy, which I guess is a good thing. And another one, “18.21 Man Made,” sounds real fancy. Says it holds all day but still lets your hair move. And smells like tobacco, which I reckon is supposed to be manly. Honestly, it’s all a bit much for me. Back in my day, hair was hair, you washed it and that was that. But times change, I suppose.
So, Why Use Hairspray Anyway?
Well, I guess it’s all about lookin’ good, or at least lookin’ how you wanna look. If you want your hair to stay put, hairspray will do it. If you want it to look a bit fuller, hairspray can help with that too. And if you just want to keep it from lookin’ messy, well, hairspray is your friend. It’s like puttin’ on a nice shirt, or shinin’ your shoes, just another way to make yourself presentable, I reckon. Though I still say a good wash and a comb is all a man really needs, but what do I know? I’m just an old woman, seen a lot, but still don’t understand half of what young folks do these days.
Where to Get This Stuff?
Shoot, you can find hairspray anywhere these days. Drugstores, supermarkets, even the little shops at the gas station. Just look for the aisle with all the bottles and cans, you can’t miss it. And if you can’t find it, ask someone, they’ll point you in the right direction. Just don’t ask me, I’m probably not goin’ to those stores anytime soon, too much hustle and bustle for my liking.
Anyway, that’s all I know about men’s hairspray. Probably more than I needed to know, but there you have it. Hope it helps someone out there, or at least gives ya somethin’ to think about while you’re waitin’ for the kettle to boil.
