Alright, let’s talk about this P90 thing, P90X, or whatever they call it, this digital fitness stuff.
What is this P90X Digital thing anyway?
Well, from what I gather, it’s this workout program, you know, like those exercise tapes they used to sell on TV, but now it’s all fancy on your phone or computer or somethin’. They say it’s tough, real tough, like, gonna make you sweat buckets and your muscles scream. They call it “extreme,” I think. Sounds like a whole lot of huffin’ and puffin’ to me.
What do you get with it?
Now, this P90 thing, it ain’t just one little workout. Nope, they give you a whole bunch of ‘em. I heard someone sayin’ somethin’ about 12 different workouts. Twelve! That’s a lot of jumpin’ around, if you ask me. Some of ‘em are for makin’ you strong, liftin’ stuff, you know. Others are for gettin’ your heart pumpin’, runnin’ in place kinda stuff. And then there’s the ones for your belly, makin’ it flat, they say. They call it “ab rippin’,” which sounds kinda scary if you think about it.
- Strong muscles workouts: They got like 5 of these, makin’ you lift and push and pull. Good for gettin’ strong, I guess.
- Heart pumpin’ workouts: Then there’s 3 of these, for runnin’ and jumpin’ and makin’ you breathe hard. Good for burnin’ off that extra pie, maybe.
- Belly flattenin’ workouts: And last, 2 of these, for makin’ your middle part look good. They say it really works, but I ain’t so sure.
Can you really do it at home?
That’s what they say. No need to go to some fancy gym with all them young folks in their tight clothes. You can just do it right there in your livin’ room, or wherever you got some space. You don’t even need much stuff, maybe some stretchy bands or a little weight, nothin’ too fancy. They even got this thing where you can watch it on your phone, so you can do it anywhere, I guess. At the park, in the yard, even in the barn, if you want. Though, I don’t know why you’d wanna do that.
Does it actually work?
Well, folks say it does. They say it makes you strong, gets rid of that flab around your middle, and just makes you feel better overall. I heard tell of someone doin’ that belly workout thing even when they couldn’t do much else, and they still got stronger. Imagine that! But you gotta work hard, real hard. This ain’t no walk in the park, they say. It’s 90 days of sweatin’ and pushin’ yourself. 90 days! That’s like, three whole months! Sounds like a long time to be huffin’ and puffin’.
Is it worth the money?
Now, that’s the real question, ain’t it? They charge you for this P90X digital thing, you know. It ain’t free. I heard it costs somethin’ like a hundred and twenty dollars, maybe a bit less. That’s a lot of money, especially if you ain’t got much to spare. But folks say it’s worth it if you stick with it and do the work. They say you get what you pay for, and if you want a strong body, you gotta be willin’ to sweat and pay a little. But me? I think I’ll stick to hoein’ the garden. That’s enough exercise for this old gal.
Thirty minutes a day they say?
Some folks say you only need 30 minutes a day with this P90X3. Now 30 minutes don’t sound like too long. But knowing them exercise folks, they cram a whole lotta work into those 30 minutes. You’ll probably be sweatin’ and pantin’ like a dog in the sun. Still, better than them long ones I guess, sometimes I ain’t got all day to be jumpin’ around.
So, is it good for everybody?
I don’t know about that. All that jumpin’ and liftin’… seems like a young person’s game to me. My old bones would probably snap like twigs if I tried any of that stuff. But if you’re young and healthy and want to get yourself in shape, then maybe it’s for you. Just be prepared to work hard and sweat a lot, and maybe have a good liniment on hand for those achy muscles.
At the end of the day…
This P90X digital thing… it’s just a bunch of exercises on a screen, far as I can tell. It might work for some, might not work for others. The important thing is to move your body, whether it’s with this fancy program or just by doin’ your chores around the house. Just don’t sit around all day, that’s what I always say. And if you’re gonna spend your hard-earned money on it, make sure you’re gonna stick with it and do the work. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of time and money, like that fancy bread maker I bought that’s just sittin’ on the counter collectin’ dust.
Stronger core they say?
They keep harpin’ on about gettin’ a stronger core. I guess that’s your middle part, like I said before. Makes sense, I guess. You need a strong middle to do just about anything, whether it’s liftin’ a sack of potatoes or bendin’ down to pick up the grandkids. So maybe there’s somethin’ to this P90X after all, if it can make your middle part stronger. But I still ain’t convinced I need a fancy digital program to do that. Good ol’ fashioned work does the trick just fine for me.
Build muscle and burn fat?
Sounds like a lot of work to me. Buildin’ muscle and burnin’ fat all at the same time? When I was young, we just worked hard on the farm and that was enough. Nowadays, everyone wants a shortcut, I guess this P90 thing is their shortcut. You work hard for 90 days, and you’re supposed to be all strong and skinny. I don’t know, seems like a lot of fuss, but if it works, it works.
