Okay, so, I’ve been on the hunt for a solid pair of boots for a while now. Something that can handle, you know, just about anything I throw at it. I’d heard a lot about both Thursday Boots and Blundstone, they are always come to my mind. So I decided to check them out in person.
First up, Thursday Boots. I went to their store, tried a few pairs, and walked around a bit. They have various styles, but I mainly focused on their classic-looking ones. The leather felt pretty nice, not too stiff, and they seemed well-made when I checked the stitches and all. They’re more like, you know, a dressy kind of boot. Still tough, but could also work if I need to look a bit more put together.
- Tried on different sizes to get the right fit.
- Walked around the store to get a feel for them.
- Checked the overall build quality – stitching, sole, etc.
Then I went to check out Blundstone. Now, these are a different beast altogether. Right away, I could tell they were built like tanks. Super rugged, the kind of boots you’d wear hiking or working in a workshop. I tried on their classic Chelsea boot, and it felt sturdy as heck. But also maybe a bit clunkier compared to the Thursdays. It has a cemented rubber sole that feels comfortable.
- Tried on the classic 500 series.
- Noticed the thicker, more rugged sole.
- Felt the overall sturdiness of the boot.
My thought
Honestly, it was a tough call. After trying both, I realized they cater to different needs. The Thursdays felt like a good balance between style and toughness. I could wear them to work, out with friends, or even on a light hike. But Blundstones are obviously a great deal. They felt like they could take some serious abuse. I have a feeling I could wear them for years and they’d still be going strong. I guess, if you’re more into the look, go for Blundstones. I have several friends wearing them for years!
In the end, I decided to go with the Thursday Boots, because they felt like the right choice for my everyday wear. It has a Goodyear Welt, which makes it more durable. It just felt more versatile. But I’m definitely keeping Blundstones in mind for the future. Maybe when I need something super heavy-duty, I’ll pick up a pair. These are just my thoughts, I hope it helps you in some way.
