Okay, so here’s the deal. I’ve been thinking about getting rid of the hair down there for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. I did a ton of reading online, and it came down to two main options: Brazilian or full wax. Let me tell you, it was a whole journey figuring this out.
First, I started by looking at what each one actually meant. Turns out, a Brazilian leaves you with a little strip or triangle of hair, while a full wax, also known as a Hollywood, takes everything off. I’m not gonna lie, the idea of going completely bare was a bit intimidating at first.
Next, I dove into a bunch of forums and blogs (no links here, sorry!). People were sharing their experiences, and it was kind of a mixed bag. Some said the full wax was way more painful, while others said it wasn’t that bad. I tried to find pictures but, you know, most places don’t exactly show that stuff. Found some cartoon drawings though, that gave me a general idea.
- Considered the pain factor, obviously. Nobody wants to go through torture.
- Looked at the upkeep. How often would I have to go back?
- Thought about what I’d be comfortable with, both physically and, well, aesthetically.
After weighing everything, I decided to go for the full wax. Yeah, I was nervous, but I figured, why not just go for it? I booked an appointment at this place a friend recommended. When I got there, the esthetician was super nice and explained everything. She said it would be quick and that the pain wouldn’t be that bad. Okay, I thought, let’s do this.
She applied this warm wax stuff, and then, rip! Okay, it definitely stung, but it wasn’t unbearable. She kept going, section by section, and honestly, it got a little easier each time. I tried to focus on my breathing like they tell you to in those yoga videos. She’d apply the wax, then rip it off. Repeat. The whole thing probably took like 20-30 minutes.
The Aftermath
When it was over, I was a little red and tender, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. She gave me some cream to apply to soothe the skin. For the next few days, I had to be careful about what I wore – no tight clothes or anything that would irritate the area. I followed all her instructions about aftercare, and everything healed up nicely.
So, was it worth it? Honestly, yeah! I love how smooth everything is. It feels so clean and, I don’t know, kind of liberating. Would I do it again? Definitely. I might even try the Brazilian next time, just to see what it’s like. But for now, I’m super happy with the full wax. It was a bit of an adventure, but I’m glad I did it!
