Okay, so I’ve been wanting to check out these “best NFL weight rooms” for a while now. You know, see what all the fuss is about. I mean, these guys are huge, so their gyms must be something else, right?
First, I did a little digging online, just to get an idea of which teams were supposed to have the top facilities. Found some articles and stuff. One mentioned the Dallas Cowboys, saying they were ranked 4th last year but dropped to 8th in the player poll. Another one listed the “Top 5 Most Impressive NFL Weight Rooms,” but it didn’t really give details, just the date it was posted. There was also something about ranking the best “wide receiver rooms,” which I guess is different from weight rooms, but whatever.
So, armed with this very basic info, I decided to actually, you know, try to visit some of these places. Easier said than done! These are NFL teams, not my local YMCA. But I figured, hey, maybe I could at least see some pictures or videos online. Started with the Cowboys, since they were mentioned. Their training facilities were supposedly “state-of-the-art” at some point. Googled around, found some stuff, but nothing too mind-blowing.
My Little “Research”
- Tried to find info on the Cowboys’ weight room.
- Looked for this “Top 5” list, but it was pretty vague.
- Got sidetracked by “wide receiver rooms” articles.
- Searched for pictures or videos of these top weight rooms.
- Found some stuff, but nothing that really showed the whole setup.
Then I tried to do some more focused research on these “top 5” gyms. Found a website that had some details. It talked about the weight room, training room, and strength staff. But the ratings were all over the place, like “A” for the weight room, “C-” for the training room, and “B+” for the strength staff. What does that even mean? It’s not like I can compare them to my own gym experiences. Oh, and I also saw something about Alabama’s weight room, which cost like $9 million or something. Crazy, right?
Honestly, I did not get that much done. The info I found online was pretty limited. I mean, I get it, these are professional sports teams, they’re not just going to let any random person in to check out their equipment. But still, I wish there was more out there. I guess I could try to contact the teams directly, but that seems like a long shot. Maybe I’ll just have to stick to my own gym for now. It may not be “NFL-level,” but at least I can actually use it. But I am still curious. I have got to find a way to check out some of these places someday. Maybe when I win the lottery. Then I can probably buy myself in.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today. Not exactly a success, but hey, I tried. Maybe one of you guys has had better luck than me. If so, let me know! I’m still dying to see what a real NFL weight room looks like.
