So, I decided it was time to try out some new workout gear, and I stumbled upon these Fabletics The One Shorts. They caught my eye because of their “quick-dry” claim. I had these other shorts, the Fundamental II, which I liked, but man, they would get soaked during workouts. Not a good feeling, you know?
I started digging around to see what people were saying about Fabletics. Turns out, I first gave them a shot way back in 2014! Time flies. This review, by the way, is totally my own opinion – I wasn’t paid or anything to say this stuff. Anyway, I went on the Fabletics’s website, looking for more information about The One Short. It is said to be Fabletic’s original gym-to-swim short. These shorts are made with this super lightweight fabric that’s supposed to dry really fast. They’re meant to be used for both swimming and working out. Sounds pretty versatile, right?
I placed an order, I got a pretty sweet deal as a new member. They have this whole VIP thing, which I’ll be honest, felt a little sneaky at first. They offer you a discounted price, but then you’re automatically signed up for a monthly subscription. It’s all there in the fine print, but you gotta really look for it.
When the shorts arrived, I tried them on. They felt really light and comfy. The material was definitely different from my old shorts. They selected some high-quality stuff for these. Then came the real test: a sweaty workout. I did my usual routine, and I was impressed. They didn’t get all heavy and soaked like my other shorts. The quick-dry thing is legit!
Then I tested them for swimming. The feeling is quite good, but the water resistance is not as good as professional swimming trunks. But overall, it is already very good.
Now, about the whole Fabletics company. Some folks online were calling them a scam, but I don’t think that’s fair. They can be a bit pricey and that VIP subscription thing is a bit much, but the quality of the shorts is solid. They really put some effort into the materials and how they’re made.
- The Good:
- Really lightweight and comfortable
- Quick-dry fabric actually works
- Versatile for gym and swim
- The Bad:
- VIP membership can feel a bit deceptive
- Regular prices are pretty high
So, would I recommend Fabletics The One Shorts? Yeah, I think so. If you’re looking for some good quality workout shorts that can handle sweat and even a dip in the pool, these are a good option. Just be aware of the whole VIP thing and maybe wait for a sale if you can.
This is just my experience, though. You never really know until you try something yourself, right? I just hope sharing my little adventure with these shorts helps someone out there make a decision.
