Alright, let’s talk about them glock zappers, or whatever you young folks call ’em these days. You know, them things that zap ya and make you fall down like a sack of potatoes. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two, and I reckon knowin’ a bit about protectin’ yourself ain’t a bad idea.
Now, I hear tell there’s different kinds of zappers. Some shoot out little things like fishin’ hooks, and some you gotta get right up close to somebody to use. Them shootin’ ones, they call ’em TASERs, I think. Fancy name, huh? They say them TASERs are real popular with the police, ’cause they can stand way off and still zap a fella. Heard tell they can reach a good thirty-five feet, maybe even more. That’s a good long ways, farther than I can throw a rock, that’s for sure.
Then there’s them other zappers, the ones you gotta touch somebody with. Just plain old stun guns, I guess. Now, them stun guns, they work alright, I reckon, but they ain’t as fancy as them TASERs. You gotta get real close, and that can be scary if you’re up against some big ol’ fella who wants to do you harm. And from what I hear, they don’t keep a fella down for too long, maybe just a minute or so. Not much time to get away, if you ask me.
- TASERs: Shoot out little things, good from far away.
- Stun Guns: Gotta touch the person, not as good for keepin’ ’em down long.
So, which one’s better? Well, that depends, I suppose. If you’re worried about someone gettin’ too close, maybe that TASER’s the way to go. But if you just want somethin’ to carry in your purse, maybe a stun gun’s good enough. I ain’t gonna tell ya what to do, though. You gotta make up your own mind about that.
But there’s more to it than just zappers, ya know. There’s this other thing called pepper spray. That stuff burns somethin’ awful, I hear. Makes your eyes water and you can’t breathe right. Now, that pepper spray, it don’t knock nobody down, but it sure can give you a chance to get away. And it lasts longer than a zapper, they say. Keeps them bad guys hurtin’ for a good while, gives you time to call for help or run like the dickens.
So, you got your zappers, and you got your pepper spray. Which one should you choose? Heck, I don’t know. It’s like pickin’ between a rock and a hard place, ain’t it? They both got their good points and their bad points. Maybe you should get both, if you can afford it. One for far away, one for close up. And don’t forget to learn how to use ’em, too! Nothin’ worse than havin’ a fancy gadget and not knowin’ how to make it work when you need it most.
And listen here, before you go buyin’ any of this stuff, you gotta check with the law. Some places, they don’t let you have certain things. You don’t wanna go buyin’ somethin’ that’ll get you in trouble, now do ya? So, be smart, ask around, make sure you’re doin’ things legal-like.
Protectin’ yourself is important, that’s for sure. But it ain’t just about havin’ the right tools. It’s about bein’ aware of your surroundings, knowin’ where the bad spots are, and trustin’ your gut. If somethin’ don’t feel right, it probably ain’t. And don’t be afraid to yell for help, neither. Sometimes, a good loud scream is all you need to scare off a bad guy.
