Alright, so a few weeks ago, I noticed a couple of gray hairs popping up. Nothing major, but enough to make me think, “Hmm, maybe it’s time to try something new.” I’ve never dyed my hair before, so this was a whole new world for me. I decided to go with black because, well, my natural hair is already pretty dark, and I figured it would be the easiest way to cover up those grays without a drastic change.
First things first, I needed to get the dye. I was looking for Mens Black Hair Dye online, and then I found it on a common store. I picked up a box of some brand – you know, the one with the dude with the perfect hair on the cover.
Next, I did a bit of reading online. I saw somewhere that I shouldn’t wash my hair for a couple of days before dyeing it. Apparently, the natural oils on your scalp can help protect your hair from the dye. Seemed legit, so I skipped the shampoo for two days. It felt a little greasy, but hey, it’s for the greater good, right?
Now, for the main event. I laid out all the stuff from the box: the dye, the developer, the gloves, and the instructions. I put on the gloves which was a good thing, cause who wants to get black hair dye all over their hands! The instructions were pretty straightforward. Basically, mix the dye and developer together, apply it to your hair, wait for a bit, and then rinse it out.
- Mixed the stuff in the bottle, no biggie.
- Started applying it to my hair, trying to make sure I got every strand. This was probably the trickiest part, especially the back of my head.
- Waited for the time mentioned in the instructions. I think it was around 25 minutes. Sat there scrolling through my phone, feeling a bit anxious.
- Finally, time to rinse! Hopped in the shower and washed it all out.
After drying my hair, I took a good look in the mirror. The gray hairs were gone, vanished! My hair was a nice, even shade of black. It looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. It wasn’t a huge, dramatic change, but it was enough to make me feel a bit more refreshed and youthful, I guess.
My takeaway?
Dyeing your hair isn’t as scary as it seems. It’s a relatively easy way to switch things up a bit and cover up those pesky grays. Just make sure you read the instructions carefully, maybe skip the shampoo for a couple of days beforehand, and don’t panic if your bathroom looks like a bit of a mess afterward. It’s all part of the process! And if you choose to use black hair dye, you can try some new colors, such as chocolate brown, cherry red brown, auburn, copper, ginger, etc.
