Okay, so I’ve been trying out these merino wool shoes, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the experience. I decided to give them a go because I heard they were supposed to be super breathable and comfy, especially for summer. You know, with all that talk about temperature regulation and moisture-wicking stuff, it sounded pretty good on paper.
First off, I went and got myself a pair. I opted for some slip-on style ones because, well, who doesn’t love an easy slip-on? Now, the real test began when I started wearing them around. Initially, I was all in, no socks, just the shoes and my feet. I wore them around the house, did some errands, you know, the usual stuff.
Wearing Them
Wearing them without socks was fine at first, but I did wonder if I was missing out on anything by not using socks. So, I switched it up and started using socks with them. I grabbed some of those merino wool socks too, just to keep things consistent. And let me say, the difference was noticeable. With socks, my feet felt even more comfortable, and they definitely helped with keeping my feet dry, especially on those hotter days.
I took these shoes on some walks, nothing too crazy, just around the neighborhood and in the park. They held up pretty well. They’re lightweight, which is a huge plus, and my feet didn’t feel like they were trapped in a sauna, which is what usually happens with my other shoes in the summer.
Feel of The Shoes
The softness of the merino wool is something else. It’s not itchy at all, which I know is a concern with wool. These shoes felt soft against my skin, which was a nice surprise. I’ve heard some brands like Mukishoes and Steger Mukluks offer shoes with merino liners. I didn’t try those, but it sounds like they’ve got the comfort part down too.
- They are really good for keeping your feet at a nice temperature.
- They wick away sweat like a champ.
- They are soft and don’t itch.
After wearing them for a while, I can say that merino shoes are a solid choice for your feet. They’re comfy, they breathe well, and they handle sweat like a pro. Plus, wearing socks with them is a good idea for that extra bit of comfort and to keep the blisters away. So, if you’re thinking about trying out merino shoes, I’d say go for it. Just remember to grab some socks while you’re at it!
