So, I’ve been messing around with my facial hair lately, trying out different looks, you know? And I stumbled upon this thing called the “pencil mustache.” Sounds kinda fancy, right? Well, it’s basically just a really thin mustache, like, super thin. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, I had to let my mustache grow out a bit. Can’t really sculpt something outta nothing. It took a few days, and let me tell you, the in-between phase is not cute. But hey, gotta power through for the sake of experimentation, am I right?
Once I had enough to work with, I grabbed my trimmer. Now, I’m no expert, but I figured, “How hard can it be?” Turns out, it takes a bit of a steady hand. I started by trimming down the bulk of it, just to get the general shape I wanted.
-
First Attempt: I went a little too thin on one side. Whoops! Ended up looking like a lopsided caterpillar was chilling on my upper lip. Not exactly the look I was going for.
-
Second Attempt: I tried to even it out, but then the other side ended up too thin. It was a mess. I was starting to think this whole pencil mustache thing was a bad idea.
-
Third Time’s the Charm: I took a deep breath, focused, and carefully trimmed little by little. Slow and steady, that’s the key. Finally, I managed to get both sides looking somewhat symmetrical. Phew!
Maintaining the ‘Stache
Now, keeping this bad boy looking sharp is a whole other story. You gotta trim it regularly, like, every other day, or it starts looking wild. And let me tell you, stray hairs are not your friend when you’re rocking a pencil mustache. They stand out like a sore thumb.
I also found that using a bit of mustache wax helps to keep it in place. Otherwise, it can get a bit unruly, especially if you have, uh, “spirited” facial hair like me. A little dab will do ya. Just rub it between your fingers and smooth it over the ‘stache.
So, there you have it. My little adventure with the pencil mustache. It’s definitely a high-maintenance look, but hey, it’s kinda fun to switch things up sometimes. Would I recommend it? Sure, why not? Just be prepared to put in the effort. And maybe don’t start trimming right before a big date or something. Learn from my mistakes, people!
Anyway I did it successfully. It’s a really cool and unique look, I think.
