Alright, let’s talk about them Walking Dead guns, you know, the ones them folks use to fight off them biters. I watched that show, yeah, lots of shootin’ in the beginnin’, then later, not so much. Don’t rightly know why, maybe they ran outta bullets, huh?
First off, you got yer revolvers. Simple things, good for close-up work. Rick, that sheriff fella, he liked his Colt Python, a real hand-cannon that one. Thing’s loud, though, draws them biters from a mile away. Then there’s them other little pistols, like that one Shane used. Good for carryin’ around, but not much good if you got a whole bunch of them biters comin’ at ya.
Then you got your shotguns. Now them’s the real deal for clearin’ out a room. Blast a biter’s head clean off, no problem. Problem is, you ain’t got many shots, and reloadin’ takes time. Seen folks usin’ all kinds, pump-action, semi-automatic, even them old double-barrels. Hershel, that farm fella, he knew his way around a shotgun, kept his family safe that way.
- Pump-Action Shotguns: Load ’em one shell at a time, good for close range.
- Semi-Automatic Shotguns: Shoot faster, good for when you got more biters.
- Double-Barrel Shotguns: Two shots, then you gotta reload, but powerful.
And of course, you got your rifles. Them’s good for pickin’ off biters from far away. Seen all sorts, from them old bolt-action ones to them fancy AR-15s. Them AR-15s, they shoot fast, but they eat up bullets like nobody’s business. And that Daryl fella, he loved his crossbow, quiet and deadly. Said it was better than a gun sometimes, didn’t draw as much attention.
Now, what I don’t understand is why they stopped usin’ guns so much later on. Seemed like everyone went all quiet, usin’ bows and arrows and swords and such. Maybe they were tryin’ to save bullets, or maybe they just got tired of the noise. I tell ya, though, if I was out there fightin’ them biters, I’d want a good gun in my hand. Somethin’ reliable, somethin’ that’ll stop ‘em dead in their tracks.
Ammunition, now that’s a problem too. Can’t just go down to the store and buy more bullets these days. You gotta find ’em, scavenge ’em, or maybe even make ’em yourself. That’s why I reckon they started usin’ bows and arrows more. Arrows, you can make ’em outta sticks and scraps, but bullets… well, that’s a whole ‘nother story.
Then there’s the whole noise thing. Every time you fire a gun, it’s like ringin’ the dinner bell for them biters. So you gotta be careful, gotta pick your shots, and gotta make sure you don’t attract too many at once. That’s why some folks like them suppressors, makes the gun quieter, but they don’t last forever, and they ain’t always easy to find.
Speaking of weapons, they had all kinds of crazy stuff besides guns. Knives, machetes, swords… Michonne, she was a real whiz with that katana sword of hers. Chopped off more biter heads than I can count. But them’s close-up weapons, you gotta get right in there, and that’s dangerous. Guns, at least, give you a little bit of distance.
So, if I had to pick the best gun for fightin’ them biters? Well, I reckon it’d be somethin’ like a good old AK-47. Reliable, powerful, and plenty of bullets. Or maybe one of them AR-15s if I could find enough ammo. But really, any gun is better than no gun when you’re up against a horde of them things. Just gotta remember to keep it clean, keep it loaded, and keep your eyes open. And most importantly, don’t waste your bullets.
But like I said, they kinda stopped using guns so much later on. Started fightin’ all sneaky-like. Maybe it was because of the lack of ammunition, or maybe they found out that makin’ noise wasn’t the best strategy. Either way, guns were mighty important in the beginnin’, helped folks survive when them biters first showed up.
Anyways, that’s just my two cents on them Walking Dead guns. I ain’t no expert, just a regular person who watched the show and saw what worked and what didn’t. Them biters are nasty business, and you need whatever you can get to stay alive.
