Okay, so, New Year’s Eve is coming up, and I was totally clueless about what to wear. I mean, I wanted to look good, but not like I was trying too hard, you know? So, I started digging around for some ideas.
First, I scrolled through a bunch of those style blogs. They had some decent suggestions, like dark trousers and a dress shirt. I even considered a bowtie for a second, but then I remembered I’m not really a bowtie guy. I do have a couple of nice oxford shoes, though, so that was a good start. One thing I didn’t get, though, was the whole pocket squares thing, it’s just not my style.
Then, I stumbled upon this idea of a black suit. Apparently, it’s a safe bet for New Year’s. And you know what? I actually have a pretty sharp black suit that I haven’t worn in ages. It’s a bit snug, but I think I can still pull it off. I tried it on, and hey, not bad! I might actually go with this.
Considering the Party’s Vibe
But then I started thinking about the kind of party I’m going to. It’s not one of those super fancy black-tie things. I’m pretty sure it is going to be more of a chill, house party vibe. So, maybe the black suit is a bit much? I also heard some people wear all white for the new year thing, but that feels way too flashy for me. Maybe I could get away with a red shirt or something, I do want to find love after all, hahaha.
Experimenting with Styles
- I started playing around with different combinations.
- I tried the dark trousers with a casual shirt – looked okay, but a bit boring.
- Then I swapped the shirt for a nicer, patterned one – better, but still not quite there.
After a few rounds of this, I decided to go for a dark, stylish sweater with my dark trousers. It’s comfortable, looks good, and it’s not too formal or too casual. Perfect for the party I’m going to. And I’ll wear my oxfords with them, those should work great.
So, yeah, that’s my whole New Year’s outfit saga. It took a bit of trial and error, but I think I’ve finally nailed it. Now, I can focus on having fun and not worrying about what I’m wearing. Happy New Year, everyone!
